The Mexican soprano gave her professional operatic debut in the role of Marie in Donizetti's La Fille du régiment at the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City. After wining the prize of the audience at the International Hans-Gabor Belvedere Competition in Vienna, she became a member of the ensemble of Zurich Opera and has also performed at the Komische Oper in Berlin, Wiener Konzerthaus, Konzerthaus Dortmund, Severance Hall with the Cleveland Orchestra, Salzburger Festspiele, Opéra Monte-Carlo, Edinburgh Festival, Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, Tonhalle in Zurich, Det Kongelige Teater in Copenhague, the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich and the National Concert Hall in Dublin.

 

She has sung roles such as Adina (L'elisir d'amore), Norina (Don Pasquale), Berenice (L'occasione fa il ladro), Giulia (La scala di seta), Rosina (Paisiello's Il barbiere di Siviglia), Blonde (Die Entführung aus dem Serail), Madame Herz (Der Schauspieldirektor), Despina (Così fan tutte), Dorinda (Orlando), Contessa di Folleville (Il viaggio a Reims), Isolier (Le comte Ory) and Adalgisa (Norma) among others.

She was the first-ever Mexican soprano to appear at the prestigious Salzburg Festival in a new production of Norma directed by Moshe Leiser and Patrice Courier with Cecilia Bartoli in the title role. She has since returned there on several occasions.

 

Rebeca has worked with conductors such as Ralf Weikert, Vladimir Fedoseyev, William Christie, Marc Minkowski, Nello Santi, Adam Fischer, Fabio Luisi, Enrique Mazzola, Diego Fasolis, Franz Welser-Möst, Emmanuelle Haïm, Alessandro De Marchi, Riccardo Minasi and Gianluca Capuano, and shared the stage with great singers like Ruggiero Raimondi, Juan Diego Flórez, Cecilia Bartoli, Javier Camarena, Piotr Beczala, Rolando Villazón and Plácido Domingo.

Together with José Carreras, she gave concerts in Mexico, Argentina, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Austria, Cyprus, Russia, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Germany.
